Jim Underwood
Jim Underwood has spent most of his career in information technology management and consulting. Since 2004 he has been director of information services for Reflek Manufacturing in Atlanta, a Boston-based manufacturer of components for the lighting industry. His responsibilities include overseeing computer networks for facilities in Boston and Atlanta, information management and software application.
Prior to joining Reflek, Jim was a software consultant, working with companies across the United States. He is a 1981 graduate of the University of Georgia, with a degree in economics.
Jim was introduced to Leaders Legacy founder Dave Stoddard by a mutual friend more than a dozen years ago, and began participating in a small discussion group for business leaders that Dave was facilitating. Later, he and Dave began a mentoring relationship and Jim experienced firsthand the benefits of the unique, personalized approach to mentoring.
In the years since, Jim has had the opportunity to lead several men in similar mentoring relationships, implementing the principles he learned to help others in their personal and professional growth and development.
Jim is a certified Birkman Method consultant and advises Leaders Legacy on various technology-related matters, including website design, software and other communications needs.
He and his wife, Sandy, live in Marietta, Ga. with their two daughters, Caroline and Ellie Grace.
Jim is a dedicated runner, having completed his first marathon early in 2009 and planning to compete in several others. Living near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, he enjoys going to the park to run and go hiking. He also is an avid reader.
